In this video: Watch as Pastor Alfred teaches that as we read scriptures we remain informed because the Word of God is light that enters us to illuminate the spirit person. God understands His word. He doesn’t understand our difficulties, challenges, experiences, trials, tribulations, or thoughts. Psalms 119: 130 says, “ The entrance of your word gives light.” Therefore, when we read scriptures, we remain informed. Knowing of scriptures is our responsibility.
Sermon Summary:
Hebrews 9:27-28 tells us that Jesus is going to appear a second time. In Revelation 20:14-15, we know that the spirit of Death and Hades will be cast into lake of fire which is the second death. Similarly, those whose names are not found in the Lamb’s Book of Life will receive second death. Word of God is light that enters you to illuminate the spirit person, after which the physical person gets the knowledge and understanding. Like the different effects that we experience as a result of shining various intensities of light over certain objects helps to make them appear to natural eyes. There are areas in our lives covered by darkness of ignorance- example: lack of healing due to lack of knowing the healing promises. The atmosphere that we live in has both the presence of God and the presence of satan.
The Word of God abiding in us allows the transmission of God’s presence into our atmosphere and releases the promise! Being born of incorruptible seed (Word of God), we are expected to be spiritually minded and operate in Heavenly laws. This is how we’re going to hold things in the spirit by holding the light of the WORD within us.
We read the account of the opening of the eyes of the disciples traveling to Emmaus with resurrected Jesus in Luke 24. They heard Jesus speak and all about His Life, His ways, His mind through breaking of scriptures. The hearing of New Testament gospels and writings of Paul should cause the burning within our hearts as a witness to the life of Jesus. Jesus expects us to be fruitful after hearing the message of His kingdom like the keeper of vineyard will expect fruit on the fig tree after three years of pruning, purging, and caring. We are expected to worship in spirit and in truth; words of worship that comes out of our spirit and not our minds. We cannot have fellowship with the world. We continue to exhibit the love of our Father through our living; by laying up treasures in heaven through tithes & offerings. We are of God, and He loves us therefore whom He loves, He prunes and makes them healthy Christians. Those who choose to stay at the feet of Jesus will never be shaken or defeated!
