Does the Truth make us free? Not exactly, but the knowledge or knowing of Truth. The understanding of the scriptures enables the displays of virtues. Jesus expects His disciples to have His mind to operate like God our Father. Being born after 2nd Adam (Jesus), we became co-inheritors and kingdom minded.
Many of the believers are not functioning as resurrected in Christ. They become victims of fear which comes with a motive to kill, steal, and destroy. Fear gains power once the un-renewed mind allows the entry of thoughts/suggestions from Satan to enter through the gates of eyes, ears and mouth.
The original plan of God was to train Adam’s creative mind to be a king and rule the creation. But by the failure of Adam, the god of this world (Satan) programmed the mind of flesh to be enmity of God. By using fear, the devil controls the world through systems like treatment centers or hospitals for sicknesses, pain maintenance (pharmaceuticals) and insurance providers.
In John 8:31-32, the specific instructions Jesus mentions for believers to know the Truth are 1) believing 2) continuation in the Word of God 3) doing the Word (disciples). Knowing the “Truth” as a person of Christ in His Word is beneficial. If you don’t follow instructions, destruction is inevitable.
Jesus has dealt with all the challenges of the world after His resurrection. We take the logos Word and speak it as rhema Word in faith to destroy fear. Therefore, we are seen by unbelievers as victors, healers, deliverers, and kingdom minded!
