We come to the Word of God to get and follow the instruction. When we allow ourselves to reason out instruction it becomes wasteful. A few examples of how following God’s instruction brings healing, ministry and keeps you abiding in the Lord:
In 2 Kings 5:1-4, Elisha (a prophet of God) gives instructs Naaman to dip himself 7 times in the river Jordan for healing of his leprosy. This did not make sense to him. We think the same way as Naaman when we believe that attending church service on Zoom is the same as attending in person although God has commanded us not to forsake the gathering of saints in the house of worship.
In Luke 17:11-19, ten lepers that were seeking healing, were instructed by Jesus to go and show themselves to the priests, even before Jesus’s touch or word of healing to them.
To the natural mind, this was a foolish instruction. After the lepers went to the priests, they became healed and only one returned to testify to Jesus about his healing. Because of his thankfulness, this leper was made whole (all flesh that was eaten by leprosy, was restored).
This is how we must testify! Why do we remember to glorify God? Forgetting to do so is stealing and Satan is the author behind it.
In Acts 3:1-11, Peter and John encountered a beggar who was born lame. The first instruction was for the beggar to look at Peter and John, next Peter told him to rise and walk in the name of Jesus. Instantly, the man stood up and went walking, leaping, and praising God! Where did the strength come from? The strength was in the power of the name of Jesus given as an instruction!
After His resurrection, Jesus asked Peter three times “Do you love Me?” and each time Peter responded “Yes, Lord.” The revelation behind this questioning was to cancel the confession of denial made by Peter against Jesus before the crucifixion.
Do not blame others for your inability to follow instruction and do the Word of God. Decide to make the Word of God your report! Follow God’s instruction for empowerment towards receiving your inheritance, your ministry!
