In this video: Watch as Pastor Alfred teaches on understanding the events that occurred during the earthly ministry of Jesus such as 1) Raising of Lazarus to life from dead, 2) Peter’s sinking while walking on water and 3) Rebuking of Satan who influenced Peter to speak against God’s plan of salvation; there are some important questions every Christian should ask: Where was Jesus? or Were His followers in faith or fear?
Sermon Summary:
How did we become Christians or how did we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior? By confession of our mouth and believing in our heart! Jesus implied in John 10:30 that “He is God.” He now lives in us as Holy Spirit, though in bodily form He is sitting on the right hand of the Father God, which signifies “power.”
When we consider the events that occurred during the earthly ministry of Jesus such as 1) Raising of Lazarus to life from dead, 2) Peter’s sinking while walking on water and 3) Rebuking of Satan who influenced Peter to speak against God’s plan of salvation; there are some important questions every Christian should ask: Where was Jesus? or Were His followers in faith or fear?
We read in John 10:30, Jesus speaking about Himself as one with God and that time He was physically living on this earth. He was with Peter, when Peter was sinking in the water and, also when Lazarus was dead for four days! Then why did Peter experience sinking and at another time was influenced by Satan? Why did Lazarus die? Why was John the Baptist beheaded when Jesus was still around? Why did God ask Adam, “where are you?” If Jesus was with them then and He is now with us in His Holy Spirit, why do we see trouble or sickness? Peter sank because of doubt and fear. He spoke the words of Satan that were residing in him.
God sent His word (Jesus) and made the worlds. As Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God; fear comes by hearing and hearing by the i) world of Satan and ii) word of Satan. We know God dwells in His word and Satan dwells in his word/world.
By continuous prayer, fellowship with God, we stop influence of Satan in our lives. Lord uses our mouth to establish (to prophesy) His will on the earth and similarly the agents of Satan use their mouths to declare his agenda. When Peter was sinking, he quickly called on Jesus and got saved from drowning. When we first submit to God, then we can resist the devil. Today, we have same person of Jesus to help us through His Words spoken under influence of His Holy Spirit!!
